East Dunbartonshire Amateurs where established in August 2008 for young adults by East Dunbartonshire Football Clubs Head of Football Development and coach Gordon Moore. The Shire joined the Strathclyde Saturday Morning League for their first competitive season. The majority of the squad is made up with players from the Bishopbriggs and surrounding areas. Ross Watt from Bishopbriggs is the captain of the team. The Shires first competitive goal was scored by local Bishopbriggs lad Scott Humpherson and his younger brother Kevin had the accolade of scoring the first Hat Trick for the Shire. The Shire play their home matches at the excellent facilities of Petershill Junior Park. The team is generously and kindly sponsored by Local Bishopbriggs Businessman Mr Ernie Kneale of Lesmac Ltd.
