East Dunbartonshire FC (EDFC) was established in 2002 and  is an SFA Quality Mark approved club.

EDFC began with seven teams and has continued to grow year on year to our current size of over 20 teams at all age groups from Under 8's to Under 19's. The club also has an academy, catering for children of 5 to 7 yrs old and an amateur team catering for young adults.

Overall EDFC has approximately 450 kids and 75 coaches which is a remarkable achievement in 10 years.

EDFC has a strong policy of inclusiveness and we do not select kids in terms of ability until participation in 11-a-side football at the age of 12. This is somewhat unusual in Youth Football whereby selection of players often takes place at a much younger age. We believe in the ethos of youth development and recognise that some children take longer to develop skills and confidence. It is this ethos which has helped our club grow so quickly and successfully to become one of the largest youth football clubs in the West of Scotland.

EDFC train mainly in schools in the Bishopbriggs area, although we have boys and girls from all over East Dunbartonshire and North Glasgow.

Our 11-a-side teams compete in the Cumbernauld & Kilsyth District Youth League with home pitches at Thorn and Colquhoun Parks in Bearsden and St.Helen's in Bishopbriggs.

The 7-a-side EDFC teams compete in the East Dunbartonshire Soccer Sevens Association on Saturday mornings at various locations.

The 4-a-side EDFC teams compete in the EDSSA Developmental Fours on Saturday mornings at Kirkintilloch High School.

The Amateur team compete in the Strathclyde Saturday Morning League.
